ENGINEERING TO REDUCE THE EFFECTS OF EARTHQUAKES

Introducing the Project

We are group eight, a team of first year Drexel students in the engineering Department. The engineering program calls for first year students to complete a design course. Its purpose is to have students go through the design process with a team as it applies to real-world problems.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Engineering Safer Buildings

This specific design section is all about engineering buildings to reduce effects of earthquakes. We were provided K'nex to use to construct our building models and we will construct a shake table to test our designs. Then we will evaluate which designs are most effective in reducing devastating effects of earthquakes.
